Favourite Music Videos: Number 1

My favourite music video is 'Disturbia' by Rihanna.

I find this video to be really dramatic, which mirrors the song. I feel as though the extravagant costumes portrayed the various personas, and that the make up corroborated with the costumes. The props used were obviously chosen carefully, and they all have a gothic theme to them. I think Rihanna, as well as the other people in the video, acted well and were believable.
There are several different location used in the video, each different yet still carrying the gothic theme.

Favourite Music Videos: Number 2

My second favourite music video is 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)' by Katy Perry.
This video is one of my favourites for several reasons. There is a large amount of cameo appearance in the video, from people such as Rebecca Black and Kevin McHale. This helps the view gain lots of attention as fans of the guest stars are inclined to watch Katy Perry's video, and possibly listen to more of her music.
I also enjoy the general wackiness of the video, as I believe it fits the song well. Furthermore, the fact that the video is over eight minutes long makes it feel like more of a short film than a music video.
The video is also rather humorous and is a pleasure to watch.

Favourite Music Videos: Number 3

To begin our project, we were asked to choose our three favourite music videos. We had to describe why we liked them, and what made them effective.
My third favourite music video is 'The Devil in Detail' by The Ambience Affair.
I like the use of stop motion in this video (stop motion is where numerous photographs are taken and placed in chronological order to give a disjointed effect). The director had to take over 15,000 still images to create this video, so evidently a lot of time, effort and patience has gone into the making of it.
I think that by using stop motion, the video is unique from any other music videos. Moreover, the majority of stop motion videos are usually happy and uplifting; this however, is rather dark and enigmatic.

Provisional Brain Storm

As we now have our song, we decided to complete a quick brain storm to gather some ideas for our music video.
